1:00PM Sunday:

An early happy Thanksgiving to all! This week will be like a little rollercoaster with temperatures notably rising and then falling. There's still no imminent snow in the forecast, but KingstonSnows is now monitoring one potential area of snow for the first week of December. Currently, this area of snow poses a very minor risk due to low confidence in it occuring and seeminly minor impacts if it does occur - overall, it is just something that we'll keep an eye on for now.

In the mean time, the big story this week will be the temperature rollercoaster as some rain passes through. As the rain approaches and falls, it will be accompanied by a surge of warm air. Temperatures on Wednesday are likely to feel like the mid-to-upper 50s. After the rain passes, winds will shift and allow colder temperatures to pour into the region. This will make our overnight temperatures feel below freezing and likely make it so the Kingston area struggles to feel warmer than 40 degrees by the end of the week. The colder air will produce accumulating lake effect snow upstate, but here in the Mid Hudson Valley nothing more than maaaybe a few flurries on Friday is expected. Other than the rain Tuesday into Wednesday, the week looks dry.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

-Ethan 🙂
